Protecting the Environment and Public Health
With a daily production volume of up to 3,000 pallets of finished goods, the hygiene, disinfection, and cleaning products manufacturer based in Malsfeld, Northern Hesse, is the largest wet wipe producer in the EU. Dr. Schumacher is committed not only to protecting public health, but also to environmental sustainability. One example of this commitment is the increased use of renewable raw materials, with close attention paid to ensuring that these resources are genuinely renewable. This focus was especially evident during PLMA 2024, where the company launched a noteworthy green initiative.
Successful Tree Planting Campaign: 217 Trees for the Environment
A total of 217 trade fair visitors accepted the wet wipe specialist’s invitation to register at the booth and each became a symbolic sponsor of one tree. Dr. Schumacher assumed full responsibility for the sponsorship costs. Through their participation, visitors actively helped offset the CO₂ footprint of their trade show attendance and contributed to a positive environmental impact.
With the strong support of Managing Partner Dierk Schumacher, and representatives from HessenForst – Bernd-Dieter Rogge, Hannah Billing, and Peter Rickert – the planting of the 217 donated wych elms (Ulmus laevis) began on December 5, 2024, in the Northern Hesse region. By doing so, Dr. Schumacher continues to invest in environmental preservation and plans to pursue further sustainability initiatives in the future.
