Where are you located?
Polimek’s headquarters and manufacturing facility are located at Atatürk Organized Industrial Zone, 10024 St. No: 9, Çiğli, İzmir, Türkiye. Design, final assembly and quality testing are carried out at the integrated production campus.
Do you have a branch in Qatar or other countries?
Polimek operates internationally through authorized partners in selected markets. These partners are authorized to support sales, installation and warranty-backed services on Polimek’s behalf.
Do you have a technical team for installation?
Yes. Polimek provides factory training, on-site commissioning support and installation supervision directly or through trained partner technicians.
Do you accept Letter of Credit (LC) or Cash Against Documents (CAD)?
As a standard commercial practice, Polimek works with advance payment terms. Project-based payment terms may be evaluated separately by the commercial team.
What is your warranty policy and spare parts distribution process?
The standard manufacturer warranty is 12 months. Spare parts are stocked at the İzmir facility and can be dispatched after order confirmation. Project-specific extended warranty or SLA-based spare kit arrangements can be evaluated separately.
Do you provide OEM services?
Yes. Polimek can evaluate white-label or OEM arrangements for qualifying partners and suitable project volumes.
Do you provide support when an issue occurs?
Yes. Polimek provides remote support by phone and email, and service commitments are managed in line with the agreed warranty and support terms.
X-Ray Baggage Scanners
What tunnel sizes are available?
Tunnel size varies by model. Common tunnel dimensions include 500 x 300 mm, 630 x 425 mm, 655 x 500 mm, 800 x 650 mm, 1000 x 800 mm and 1000 x 1000 mm, depending on the selected model.
Can the generator size be changed?
Yes. Within suitable model families, the X-ray tube voltage can be configured according to the minimum kV requirement of the project or tender.
Can X-Ray scanners provide remote assistance?
Yes. Network-ready models can support remote diagnostics and remote desktop assistance for software and configuration-related issues.
Can a camera be installed on the X-Ray system?
The X-Ray scanner does not include a built-in CCTV camera as standard. An external camera can be evaluated as a project-specific accessory.
Do you have ECAC or TSA certifications?
Polimek currently focuses on commercial and private security applications. ECAC or TSA certification requirements should be confirmed with the commercial and technical teams before quoting.
Do you have FDA certification?
FDA compliance should be confirmed for the specific model under evaluation before quoting.
What certificates do you have?
Available certifications may include CE, RoHS, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, occupational health and safety management certification, radiation safety certificates, electrical safety standards and X-Ray scanner compliance documents depending on model and project scope.
Do you have dual-view models?
Yes. Polimek can provide dual-generator, dual-view models for simultaneous two-angle image review.
What is the delivery time for X-Ray scanners?
Standard models are generally delivered within 4–6 weeks. Custom or dual-view models may require 8–10 weeks. Large multi-unit projects may require longer production and FAT planning.
Do you provide UPS support?
UPS backup can be evaluated as an optional accessory depending on the model and project requirement.
What accessories are available?
Common accessories include conveyor extension tables or rollers, additional monitor options, network connectivity kits, UPS where supported, spare lead curtain sets, calibration test pieces, operator desks or carts and image archiving servers.
Do you provide spare parts?
Yes. Spare parts are stocked at the İzmir facility for active product lines.
Do you provide Windows-based systems?
Depending on the model and project requirement, Windows or Linux-based operating systems may be provided.
Do you have TIP (Threat Image Projection)?
Yes. TIP functionality is available on supported X-Ray scanner models.
Do you have AI software?
Yes. Standard software and licensed AI-based software options can be provided depending on project scope.
Can X-Ray scanners detect explosives and drugs?
Supported models can assist operators through dual-energy material classification for drugs and explosives inspection.
What is the difference between A, C and D models?
A series models are positioned as base or compact systems. C series models offer more advanced functions such as higher generator options, multilingual operation, self-diagnosis, network readiness and material classification. D series models represent the premium dual-view tier with a second generator, dual monitors and advanced analysis options.
Can the machine detect gold?
The system can detect dense metallic objects, including gold-like dense materials, but it cannot chemically identify an item as gold. Elemental or substance identification requires a different detection technology.
Do you provide training certificates for X-Ray systems?
Yes. Training certificates can be issued to participants after completion of the training program.
Do X-Ray systems pose any risk to people standing nearby?
No. X-Ray systems are designed with protective shielding that prevents radiation from escaping into the surrounding environment.
Do X-Ray systems and metal detectors require maintenance?
Yes. Periodic maintenance is recommended to ensure performance, reliability and operational safety.
Walk-Through Metal Detectors
How many detection zones are available?
Detection zones vary by model and may range from 6 zones up to higher-zone configurations.
Can the frequency be adjusted?
Yes. Supported models provide selectable operating frequencies to reduce interference in multi-lane or dense installation environments.
What is the minimum distance required to avoid interference?
The required distance depends on the model and installation environment. Multi-lane layouts should be confirmed using the relevant installation manual or technical team guidance.
Can the system be equipped with batteries?
Some models can support backup battery or UPS options. This should be evaluated as a project-specific requirement.
Do you have connectivity for remote monitoring?
Yes. Supported models can provide PC-based remote control or monitoring software over network or wireless connection.
Can the detector be connected to a turnstile?
Yes. As a system-level integration, alarm outputs can be connected to turnstile or access control systems to manage passage control.
Do you provide monitoring software?
Yes. Supported software can display alarm counts, zone indicators, alarm settings and event logs.
Do you have outdoor options?
Yes. Outdoor suitability depends on the model’s IP rating, such as IP55 or IP65-rated options.
What is the delivery time?
Many models can be supplied from stock or within a short lead time. Special project or tender requirements may extend the timeline.
Can the system detect weapons?
Yes. Supported models can be calibrated to detect metallic weapons such as knives and firearms according to project requirements.
Guard Tour Systems
How does the guard tour system work?
The guard carries a patrol wand and scans fixed checkpoint tags placed along the patrol route. Each scan is recorded with checkpoint ID and timestamp. Records are later downloaded to the management software for patrol compliance reporting.
What does one set include?
A typical set includes one patrol reader, carrying pouch or holster, checkpoint tags, guard identification keys, USB cable and patrol management software. Exact quantities are defined according to the project.
Do you have live monitoring?
Standard SMARTPEN and PROXPEN devices operate as offline data loggers. Records are downloaded after the patrol. Real-time monitoring requirements should be evaluated separately.
Can the system work without software?
The device can collect patrol records in the field without live software connection. Software is required afterward to download data and generate reports.
Do you have web-based software?
Desktop and web-based management options can be evaluated depending on the project requirement.
Can it be used in multiple locations?
Yes. The solution can support multi-site usage.
Can it be used by multiple security agents?
Yes. Devices and guard identification keys can be assigned across different guards and shifts, while software tracks patrol performance.
What is the delivery time?
Guard tour hardware usually has high stock availability and can typically be supplied in a short timeframe.
Turnstiles
Can readers be installed on turnstiles?
Yes. Reader installation on turnstiles is a standard deployment scenario.
Can turnstiles be integrated with an alarm system?
Yes. Turnstiles can receive dry-contact signals from systems such as fire alarm panels depending on the project design.
Can turnstiles be installed outdoors?
Outdoor suitability depends on the model. Tripod turnstiles may be used outdoors under a canopy, while specific outdoor-rated or IP-rated solutions should be selected for exposed environments.
Do you provide fail-safe or fail-secure solutions?
Yes. Fail-safe or fail-secure operating modes can be configured according to project requirements.
Can you provide backup power in case of power outage?
Yes. UPS backup can be added as a project-specific accessory where required.
What is the delivery time?
Delivery time is generally 4–8 weeks, depending on model, finish specification and order quantity.
Readers & Components
Can readers be integrated with a turnstile?
Yes. Reader and turnstile integration is a standard access control deployment pattern.
Can you integrate with third-party software?
Yes. Depending on the device and project scope, integration can be supported through interfaces such as Wiegand, TCP/IP, RS485 or middleware/API-based integration.
Can readers be installed outdoors?
Outdoor installation depends on the model’s IP rating. The specific reader model should be checked before confirming outdoor suitability.
Can the reader work as standalone?
Yes. Some readers support standalone operation using local memory and access logic without continuous server connection.
What is the maximum log capacity?
Log capacity varies by device model and configuration.
Can the reader be used offline?
Yes. Standalone-capable readers and controllers can continue logging events locally and synchronize records when network connectivity is restored.
UVSS — Under Vehicle Scanning Systems
Do you have fixed and portable UVSS options?
Yes. Fixed and portable UVSS options can be provided depending on checkpoint requirements.
What is the maximum scanning speed?
UVSS systems can support vehicle scanning across different checkpoint speed scenarios. The exact speed capability should be confirmed according to the selected model.
Barrier Gates & Vehicle Access Control
What barrier arm size options are available?
Barrier arm length options may include 3 m, 4 m and 6 m variants depending on model and project requirement.
Can barriers be integrated with a reader?
Yes. Barriers can be integrated with card, RFID, QR or similar readers through standard access control interfaces.
Can barriers be integrated with UVSS or other vehicle inspection systems?
Yes. Barrier open/close logic can be integrated with UVSS, LPR or vehicle access control systems as part of a checkpoint design.
Device Connectivity & Communication
What should I do if communication with the device cannot be established?
Communication issues are generally caused by network connectivity, IP configuration, cabling, switch ports, firewall settings or server access problems.
Why does the device connection keep disconnecting?
Intermittent connection losses may result from network instability, IP conflicts, switch port issues, loose cabling or power fluctuations.
The device is not transferring attendance or access records to the software. What should be checked?
This issue may be related to device-software communication, service status, IP connectivity or device memory capacity.
The device date or time is incorrect. Can this cause problems?
Yes. Incorrect date and time settings may cause records to be stored with inaccurate timestamps.
Device Hardware & Usage
The device screen is blank. What could be the reason?
This may be caused by power supply issues, adapter failure, power outlet problems, wiring issues or device hardware faults.
The device buttons are not responding. What should I do?
The issue may be caused by device freezing, keypad malfunction, touchscreen problems or user permission restrictions.
Card Access & Authorization
Why is the device not reading the card?
Possible causes include card type incompatibility, a defective card or a reader hardware issue.
What does the “Unknown Card” warning mean?
This indicates that the card is not assigned to a user in the system or that the required authorization has not been configured on the device.
The device reads the card, but the door or turnstile does not open. What could be the reason?
Access permissions, time schedules, relay outputs, door locks and turnstile connections should be checked.
Biometric Authentication & Data Privacy
Fingerprint or facial recognition is not working. What should be checked?
Registration quality, sensor or camera cleanliness, environmental conditions and device settings should be reviewed.
Can a biometric device be used only as a card reader?
Yes. Depending on the device model, it can be configured to operate solely for card-based access.
Can biometric data stored on existing devices be deleted?
Yes. If supported by the device and software infrastructure, stored biometric data can be removed.
Workforce Management & Software Usage
Can payroll be processed through the Workforce Management system?
No. The system does not generate payroll but can provide attendance and working time data required for payroll processing.
Can the web-based software be installed on our own server?
Yes. The web-based software can be deployed on the customer’s own infrastructure.
Is there an annual subscription or rental fee for the software?
No. The software is sold with a perpetual license. Maintenance and support services can be provided separately according to customer requirements.
